Today feelings of most of India's population are against Pakistan in wake of recent attacks. Most of people feel it's time India act tough and attack terrorist camps running in pak occupied kashmir. But the question arises will not pakistan retaliate with military action causing igniting a full fledge war between the two countries. The fact being that the both countries are nuclear armed and it is well known that Pakistan will not hesitate using nuclear weapons in the case of their possible defeat. It is well known policy of India not to first use the nuclear weapons and pakistan know it well.
The question now arises that are we ready to bear a nuclear attack and is our country's economy much stronger to sustain load of a full scale war and the effects that will arise due to the war. In case of a nuclear attack everyone can easily imagine how serious and disastrous may be the result. The world has already seen what level of consequences one can have due to nuclear attack. The answer to my question is NO. We are not equipped to tackle unwanted situation such as this.
Pakistan's army has been engaged in a war like situation from past few years on the afghanistan front and is most unpopular among the common peoples of pakistan. A sense of enmity against India can easily unite the tribals, army and the common people of pakistan. This would bring a sudden stability in pakistan but not politically. Pakistan army will then have a reason to pull troops from afghan border and to build them at Indian border.
The best thing that can be done is to invest in high end technology to keep a vigil on infiltrators across the border. India has invested 2000 crore Rs in moon mission but if it invest some roughly 1000 crore Rs for launching few more Geo stationary survillience sattelites that can help intelligence persons to keep an eye on movement across our border, wouldn't it be better investment. India should have regular maritime reconnaissance missions acorss the maritime boundary to crack any further penetration from the sea route. Offcourse such measures would incurr additional expenses on Indian Government but across common people who would not be willing to pay his taxes if the government has a willpower to spend for the welfare of the peoples.
I dont know till what time the general public have to bear the consequences due to negligence of our government. Lets vote in coming election to in a move to create a safe and better India. we the youth of India are its power and we are the one who can change the future.
Lets hope the general elections scheduled next year will bring some changes and a good Government with a strong willpower would be formed.
